Hays Australia Salary Survey – 2009

Very thorough research on salary averages for IT positions in Australia and New Zealand.

Typical salaries are in a matrix of AZ/NZ regions versus about 50 IT job titles.

While there is only 1 Infosec related position (“Network Security”), it should be helpful in setting salary expectations – down to the detail level of Perth versus Auckland versus Melbourne, etc…   You also get a smart look into how a Network Security person ranks in salary compared to over 50 other IT jobs.

Good luck to you, if you’re job hunting in Australia and New Zealand.

    Adriano,

I have gone through your articles and you have provided as much information required for a infosec professional. Now I have 8 + years of exp, which includes 5 in Information security. Now I am looking for Job oppurtunities in Australia esp Melbourne. I had worked as a Network security Engineer and gradually moved into Information security field. Currently I hold CISA and CISSP certifications. The other certs (CCNA, CCNP, Checkpoint)have expired though. I am specialized in intrusion detection and incident handling. Currently pursuing my GCFE cert. Please let me know what will be the ideal package that I can negotiate for my experience and skill sets. Thanks.

    Hi,
In my current job, I have 6 years + experience as PA to the CEO and Office Administrator (80staff). I used to do IT administration also but that is not part of my role today. I earn around € 40000 including bonus and mortgage subsidy. Myself, my husband and our little girl are applying for a permanent visa at the moment. If I was to apply for Office Manager roles, how much should I expect to earn in Perth at the start or after 1 or two years of working there and how much would you recon i should ask for. I do not have any specific qualifications but speak French, German, Romanian and have a cert called ‘Proficiency in English’ – level ‘Advanced’ Thank you for you advice.

    • Hi Ioana,
While this website is only focused on Information Security positions, I recommend you to have a look at http://www.seek.com.au and query for positions related to your field.

Recruiters usually disclose the salary, which could you give a good idea on how much can be asked.

      Regards,

      Adriano Dias Leite
