JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are Smart Dynamic Workforce Solutions and we are currently looking for a Network and Security Team Lead to help our client, one of Canada’s leading Medical Supply Firms based in Ottawa. Our client is embarking on an exciting new phase of its ongoing business model. They are in the process of transitioning to a stand-alone publicly traded company and need to build a self-maintaining IT Business Team, away from a previous Enterprise Service layer. As such, our client needs a Network and Security Team lead to help build the best infrastructure, policies and security standards, and ensure their long-term availability.
In this role, you will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure. You will need to leverage a relationship with an outsourcing partner, to help you design and build a fully supportable Network and Security environment that meets the business demand for high availability, addresses security concerns, drives for efficiencies and standardization and meets the various needs of separate locations across Canada (and potentially globally).
Some of your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing vendors and internal resources to define policies and ensure adequate protection of Data Centre resources.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationship with key Vendor(s) in the Network and Security Space.
- Ensuring contractual commits are met including SLA’s, and SOW’s.
- Leading the design, development, implementation and support of the Network and security infrastructure in partnership with Key Vendors.
- Providing subject matter expertise in industry best practices related to the day to operations of a high available and secure network environment.
- Ensuring all infrastructure systems are secure and kept up to date and patched appropriately using industry accepted practice to enable a secure environment.
- Leading the solution of Network and Security configurations for business critical applications and services.
- Leading and being responsible for the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new technology and services in the Network and Security environment.
- Being responsible for the daily administration of Domain names and Security Certificates.
- Performing daily administrative and maintenance tasks for Network and Security infrastructure.
- Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, vendors, team members and clients both internally and externally.
- Developing and tracking metrics and success criteria for programs and activities.
