TITLE: Security Operations Engineer

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent required
• Some experience of system security, network and/or application security experience
• Some experience working in an operational role for a commercial organization
• Technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
• Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
• Strong scripting skills in at least one of the following is highly desired: Perl, Python, shell (bash, ksh, csh). Working knowledge of one of C, C++ or Java would be an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated
• CISSP, CISA, CISM and/or other security certifications encouraged.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Currently seeking a qualified Security Operations Engineer for city centre position to evangelise security within a well known organisation. You will provide support to ensure that applications and infrastructure operate to the highest security standards, thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust.
If you enjoy working in a highly technical and rapidly changing environment, troubleshooting system services, operating systems, networks and applications from a security perspective, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity.
You will be providing front line support for all information security related issues, such as firewall configuration, managing SSL Certificates, advising on security policy compliance, handling data confidentiality issues, monitoring and responding to emerging threats. You will also be providing front line support for internal customers working on security compliance projects (e.g. PCIDSS, SOX)
