TITLE: Security Operations Engineer

LOCATION: Dublin, Ireland

RELOCATION/VISA: Need to have a relevant visa

SALARY: 45,000.​00 – 65,000.​00 EUR  per year

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent required
  • Some experience of system security, network and/or application security experience
  • Some experience working in an operational role for a commercial organization
  • Technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
  • Strong scripting skills in at least one of the following is highly desired: Perl, Python, shell (bash, ksh, csh). Working knowledge of one of C, C++ or Java would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM and/or other security certifications encouraged
  • +5 years experience
  • JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The ideal candidate will be expected to provide quality first-tier systems management for our worldwide operations. He/she will demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Linux operating system and have experience with participating in operational support for a large-scale enterprise environment. Passion for working with new technologies and pushing the envelope on existing technology is essential for success.

    If you enjoy working in a highly technical and rapidly changing environment, troubleshooting system services, operating systems, networks and applications from a security perspective, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity.

    You will provide support to ensure that applications and infrastructure operate to the highest security standards, thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust.
    Key tasks include:

    • Providing front line support for all information security related issues, such as firewall configuration, managing SSL Certificates, advising on security policy compliance, handling data confidentiality issues, monitoring and responding to emerging threats. Troubleshooting issues affecting the security computing resources
    • Follow standard practices and procedures to respond appropriately to external and internal threats
    • Providing support for security-focused tools and services
    • Providing front line support for internal customers working on security compliance projects (e.g. PCIDSS, SOX)
    • Contributing to the development of the Global Security Engineering organization’s policies and processes
    • Working directly with Technical Operations personnel to provide information security support during events impacting tier one customer-facing services
    • Identify and troubleshoot recurring issues and escalate these appropriately for full resolution
    • Evangelizing security within and be an advocate for customer trust

    Note: This position requires out-of-hours on-call work.
